CWRVC/EN 15085

Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components (CWRVC)

Rapidly becoming a pre-requisite for contract award, or approved supplier status, third party certification in compliance with EN 15085: Railway Applications - Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components, is increasing being recognised by manufacturers of components, sub-assemblies and vehicles.

The CWRVC scheme demonstrates manufacturers' competence for control of welding quality in the production of railway vehicles and components. Specialist assessors ensure full compliance with the certification requirements of EN 15085.

On behalf of the UK Office of the Rail Regulator, UKAS has accredited TWI Certification Ltd (Company Certification) as a Manufacturer Certification Body (MCB) in accordance with EN 15085-1.

TWI CL (Company Certification) is a MCB for the European Committee for Welding of Railway Vehicles (ECWRV). Information can be found on the register here. For ECWRV specific contracts, or for customers who would appreciate the European coverage for new opportunities, you can apply for the additional certification and will be included in the ECWRV online register.

For clients, CWRVC is an in-depth, authoritative evaluation of a manufacturer’s capability, conducted by independent experts, while maintaining a consistent assessment and uniformity of data and information presentation.
